Position: Part Time Inside Sales Representative
Hours: 8-4
Travel: none - 5%
Location: Southern MA & RI
Responsibilities:
This opportunity is for an entry level, inside sales position in a fast growing technology organization and will report directly to the Sales Manager.
Under limited supervision the candidate will be responsible for calling new customers to generate enough interest to speak to one of our Senior SE.
Although the candidate doesn’t have to have an in-depth knowledge of technology, because he will just be scheduling the calls and not providing solutions, it would be a plus if they do have a basic understanding of technology and networking.
Other responsibilities of the inside sales position are to work with existing customers, follow up on completed jobs, getting customer satisfaction surveys completed, asking about additional upcoming IT projects, weekly reports and scheduling.
On going training in sales and technology will be provided continually through out the sales progression. There is a clear career progression, to outside sales for this inside sales position and it is entirely based on the candidates drive and performance.
Qualifications:
- Candidate must have strong communications and time management skills, be motivated, willing to learn and study new technology, and have a desire to be promoted inside a fast paced IT organization.
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal and organizational skills as well as strong oral and written communication skills.
- Candidate must be hardworking, responsible and attentive to customer’s needs.
- Proven ability to effectively manage high levels of activity and multiple demands simultaneously.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems independently
- Understanding of networking concepts a plus.

Responsibilities:
The candidate will function as a Sr. VM Architect, working directly with the customers to assess, plan, design and implement server consolidation solutions. They will work the entire life cycle of projects from sales, business development and proposals to final delivery. This will involve identifying the appropriate infrastructure architecture, technological solutions, migration strategies, recommendations and steps of deliverable services and finally delivering ROI results.
Qualifications:
At Protocol Networks we always hire the best of the best and we are looking for a seasoned of the Senior VM Architect’s. We expect the candidate to be an EXPERT with VM but also have many other talents and skills. This person must have a proven track record in architecture, design, and the implementation of IT infrastructure solutions for fortune 500 organizations. The candidate will have excellent presentation, writing, and project management skills with ability to lead large services engagements and have a strong aptitude for troubleshooting hardware, network, security and server issues. An understanding of the professional consulting services business is 100% required.
Expert Knowledge of VMware products, including but not limited to:
- VMware Infrastructure 3
- VMware ESX Server 3.x, 2.x
- VMware VirtualCenter
- VMware GSX
Expert Knowledge of the following technologies and concepts:
- Routing and Switching
- Windows NT/2000/2003 Server
- Active Directory
- Windows Clustering and Load Balancing
- Exchange 200x
- iSCSI SAN’s
- Fibre Channel SAN’s
Must be able to work in a team environment; that includes training for new team members and cross training on new concepts for existing team. Will also be responsible for supporting and troubleshooting IT systems at the highest level.
We would expect someone with these skills to have 8 to 15 years of IT consulting experience.

- Other current Cisco Voice applications
Expert Knowledge of the following technologies and concepts:
- SIP and IP, session border control
- Dial plan design (Gatekeeper and CallManager-based)
- Call routing and control protocols (H.323, MGCP, SIP, SCCP)
- Voice circuits and protocols (Q.SIG, ISDN PRI, CAS, FXO, FXS, PLAR, POTS, E&M, etc)
- In-depth knowledge in IP networking, LAN/WAN Switching, and QoS techniques
CCVP or equivalent experience is required; CCIE Voice is a major plus!
